The third eye chakra, known in Sanskrit as "Anja" chakra, translates to “authority” or “perception” and is considered the eye of intuition and intellect. It's associated sense organ is the brain. It is the 6th energy center in our body, located in the middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows. The third eye is associated with the penial gland in charge of regulating biorhythms, including sleep and wake time. It is a spiritual center of awareness and intuition. It is positioned close to the optical nerves and as such, sensitive to visual stimulations and changes in lighting. Appropriately, its element is light, a portal to which we can obtain higher knowledge and discovery through visualization.
